Built to rattle the cage at the Easter Jeep Safari festival in Utah, the Trailcat is a Wrangler 4x4 powered by a 707 horespower Hellcat V8 from the well known Dodge Challenger car.
This two-door Wrangler gets a one foot-long wheelbase stretch to fit in the awesome supercharged 6.2-liter engine, with a powerful six-speed manual transmission.
Its two-inch lift will help it clear enormous 39.5-inch tires fitted around beadlock wheels. To add to that, a chopped windshield and plush bucket seats from a Dodge Viper give it a high-quality appearance.
it isn't in production yet, but a Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee is in the making for later this year!
Alongside the Trailcat, Jeep has also pushed forward two other model concepts for the Safari that demonstrate the opposite extremes for the Jeep Wrangler, while readying a brand new version of the widely respected SUV for next year.
The Crew Chief 715 is a rustic four-door pickup that pays homage to the Kaiser M715 military truck from the late 1960ís. It features a classic front end design, classical NDT military tires, and Tactical Green paint.
The trucks composite bed is made to look like its crafted from wood, and it gets a huge helping of Jeep Performance Parts everywhere else, like a four-inch lift kit, Fox reservoir shocks, rock rails, and winch-equipped steel bumpers front and rear. On the inside, dashboard-mounted auxiliary switches control locking Dana 60 differentials and an on-board air compressor, and thereís an enormous ball compass on the center stack.
If that feels like too much Wrangler for a person, the Shortcut may be a better size. Itís 26-inches shorter than a two-door Wrangler, fitted with a neat four-point roll bar, cruises on solid steel wheels, and also has a few of plaid-upholstered low-back seats.
